Gophers 4, Harvard 2: Minnesota Completes Women’s Hockey Weekend Sweep

Pioneer Press

Kelly Seeler had a goal and an assist, and Bethany Brausen scored her first collegiate goal as Minnesota swept a nonconference series from the Crimson with Sunday’s victory at Ridder Arena.

Sarah Erickson and Mira Jalosuo added power-play goals for the Gophers (10-5), who led 4-0 after two periods.

Goaltender Noora Raty stopped 35 shots for Minnesota, which was outshot 37-18. Kate Buesser scored twice for Harvard (4-4-3).

MEANING: The Gophers have won five of their past six games, including a 7-5 victory over top-ranked Wisconsin, despite playing without top returning scorer Emily West (knee).

QUOTE: “Tonight was certainly not our best effort, but we did enough to win. We won tonight because our goaltender played better than theirs.” — Minnesota coach Brad Frost
